Our Mission

The mission of the Friends of Nevada County Libraries, a non-profit organization, is to focus community attention on the continuing value of, and necessity for, a public library system as a cultural, educational, and recreational asset.

In order to carry out that purpose, the Friends:

• Seek out gifts of materials, service, and money. All donations are tax deductible. We are a 501 (C) (3) organization.

• Raise funds for the purchase of books and source material.

• Collect and resell previously-owned books.

• Sponsor the Children's Summer Reading Program.

• Promote and assist in financing educational library programs for community members.

• Engage in other activities that help fulfill the above mission.
