GOLD RUSH BOOK FAIR CANCELLED FOR 2012The Friends of the Libraries of Nevada County has produced the Gold Rush Book Fair the last two years. Unfortunately, we have not been able to recruit enough volunteers to continue this effort. We will not be able to produce the Fair for 2012. Thanks for your support making the Fair a success for the past Eleven (11) years. Book Appraisals The Main Street Center Building at the Fairgrounds "IT'S LIKE BROWSING IN A GREAT OLD BOOKSHOP"The 11th Annual Gold Rush Book Fair will feature distinguished booksellers displaying their old, rare and out-of-print books and ephemera for public sale. All types of material and price ranges are available. Fresh food and beverages will be available on the premises. The Friends of the Nevada County Libraries have taken over management of the Fair this year. John Hardy, of Hardy Books, will be on hand as usual during the event. The weather is beautiful in late spring in Nevada County, and we recommend that you plan your visit to our Gold Rush Book Fair to allow yourself time to visit the many attractions here in the Gold Country. Use the LINKS under "Visitors Information" to your right to acquaint yourself with the area. There are overnight RV hook-ups, tent and trailer camping at the fairgrounds. Books and Collectibles Appraised PBA Galleries of San Francisco, the premier West Coast auction house, will attend the Eleventh Annual Gold Rush Book Fair and offer verbal appraisals to the public for books, manuscripts, photographs, ephemera and related items. A $1.00 donation per item is requested and will benefit the Friends of the Libraries of Nevada County. In order to give everyone an opportunity, we ask that each person limit their number of items to 12. Items purchased at the Gold Rush Book Fair will not be eligible for this service. Selected items may be accepted for consignment for auction. Items may also be offered to participating dealers for purchase. PBA Galleries is one of the largest and most successful specialty auction houses world-over. Devoted to works on paper and related arts, PBA conducts approximately twenty-five gallery auctions in a calendar year and continuous live auctions of rare books, manuscripts, autographs, maps, atlases, prints and photographs. PBA Galleries is located at 133 Kearny Street, San Francisco, California. For more information see their website: www.pbagalleries.com.
